Mª Luisa González Fuentes

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the International University of Catalonia (UIC), specializing in taxation with a Master’s Degree in Tax Advisory. She has extensive experience in tax consulting, both in direct and indirect taxation, advising companies, individuals, and family groups, as well as assisting in tax audit and inspection proceedings.

She developed her professional career for more than ten years at Consultores de Economía y Tributos. She later worked at Bufete Ribalta in the tax department, and subsequently joined the tax law department of Garrigues Abogados in Barcelona, providing ongoing tax advisory services to both individuals and corporate clients. She has also worked at a Financial Advisory Firm, Diverinvest Asesoramiento EAF, S.L., offering clients wealth tax advice as part of an integrated service approach.

She is currently focused mainly on family business taxation, succession planning, wealth planning, and corporate restructuring operations, as well as providing assistance in tax management, collection, audit, and inspection procedures, in addition to ongoing tax advisory services for her clients.

Javier Vecino

Javier Vecino is an of counsel lawyer at Casals Abogados, where he primarily practices in the firm’s Tax Law department.

With over 25 years of professional experience, he has advised large and small companies, startups, and multinational corporations, designing efficient tax strategies and providing solutions tailored to the specific needs of each client.

Throughout his career, Javier has been involved in the analysis and tax planning of domestic and international operations, as well as in inspection procedures and defense before the Tax Administration. His deep knowledge of the regulations allows him to optimize companies’ tax burdens while always ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks.

In the early stage of his career, he also worked in the areas of Commercial Law and Administrative Law, experience that gives him a cross-cutting perspective and enables him to offer comprehensive advice. Thanks to this, he can support companies not only in tax matters but also in resolving contractual, corporate, and regulatory issues.

Ricardo de Rabassa

Ricardo de Rabassa is an of counsel attorney at Casals Abogados with over 45 years of professional experience. Throughout his career, he has served as an in-house legal advisor for prominent organizations in the financial, energy, and telecommunications sectors, leading multidisciplinary legal teams and handling highly complex matters.

He specializes in Administrative and Civil Law and has extensive experience advising within regulated industries, where he combines deep regulatory knowledge with a strategic outlook focused on business operations and legal certainty.

Juan Carlos Bailach

Juan Carlos Bailach is an economist and has been an associate professor at the University of Barcelona since 1995. He is a registered auditor listed in the Official Register of Auditors (ROAC) under number 9395, having practiced auditing both independently and as a partner in various audit firms.

His research has focused on tax law, covering topics such as international taxation, income tax, corporate tax, value-added tax, as well as real estate, regional, and local taxation, along with tax procedures.

In academia, he began his career at the University of Barcelona in 1989, and since 1995 he has held the position of associate professor, actively contributing to the education of new generations of professionals in the economic and fiscal fields.

Regarding knowledge transfer, he is a member of the College of Economists of Catalonia, where he has conducted numerous specialized courses and seminars on Tax Procedures. He also collaborates with the Register of Economist Auditors (REA) and the General Council of Economists. Professionally, he also acts as an expert witness in judicial proceedings of a contentious-administrative nature.

Sandra Luciano

Sandra Luciano has been part of the Administration Department at CASALS ADVOCATS since March 2012. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2008) and has solid experience in the administrative management of law firms, performing duties such as billing, case tracking, internal coordination, and operational support for both the legal team and management.

Since joining, she has carried out tasks related to the legal and organizational back office, consistently contributing to the firm’s internal operations and the optimization of administrative processes linked to professional activities.

She has extensive experience managing the daily internal procedures within the legal field, working with a practical and efficient approach focused on strict compliance with organizational standards.

Olga Kamyshanskaya

Since 2016, Olga Kamyshanskaya has played a versatile role at CASALS ABOGADOS as executive secretary, translator, and head of People & Culture. Her career at the firm has been marked by her involvement in key areas such as organization, internal communication, and strengthening corporate culture.

On a daily basis, she combines operational office coordination with direct support to management, legal translation management, and guiding the team through various stages of the employee lifecycle. Her work has been essential in enhancing and consolidating the firm’s corporate image, as well as leading initiatives in wellbeing, internal training, and team-building activities.

She holds a degree in Translation and Interpretation and a Master’s in Communication and Advertising Management from ESIC (Barcelona). Additionally, she has enhanced her profile with training in Digital Marketing and Legal Translation.

Gonzalo Casals

Gonzalo Casals is an associate lawyer at Casals Abogados with over 10 years of experience. He joined the firm in 2023 after developing his career at KPMG Abogados for 8 years, where he advised companies and individuals on insolvency proceedings, restructurings, and complex litigation.

He specializes in insolvency and procedural law, with extensive experience in bankruptcies, creditor arrangements, directors’ liability, and restructurings, as well as leading civil and commercial judicial proceedings through all phases.

Additionally, he has experience in commercial, civil, and banking law, supporting clients in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate planning, and judicial and extrajudicial proceedings related to business disputes, as well as matters involving banking products and mortgage foreclosures.

José Luis de Ávila

José Luis joined CASALS ADVOCATS in 2023, bringing with him over 30 years of solid experience in accounting and finance across companies in various sectors. He holds a degree in Economic Sciences with a focus on strategic consulting and specializes in economic analysis, project evaluation, and financial planning.

Throughout his career, he has advised organizations on restructuring, growth, and resource optimization processes, combining rigorous data, contextual understanding, and a long-term vision. His cross-sector experience in energy, services, commerce, and manufacturing enables him to provide solutions tailored to each client’s specific reality.

With a practical, results-oriented approach, he transforms accounting information into a valuable tool for efficient and sustainable business management.

Manel Bullich

Since joining CASALS ADVOCATS in 2012, Manel has provided accounting and tax advice to companies and freelancers across sectors such as energy, services, hospitality, retail, and pharmaceuticals. He has built a solid track record in tax planning, financial closings, and the preparation of annual accounts, tailoring his approach to the specific needs of each client. Additionally, he has been actively involved in numerous accounting and tax Due Diligence processes, bringing clarity and accuracy to mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring transactions.

His approach is based on technical reliability and attention to detail, offering strategic support that strengthens financial management and business sustainability.

Julián Pareja

Julián Pareja graduated in Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2012, where he was awarded the Extraordinary Degree Prize.

After completing a Master’s in Business Law, he joined CASALS ABOGADOS in 2014 in the Civil Procedural Law Department, which he has been co-directing since 2023 alongside the founding partner.

An expert in all types of civil and commercial claims, he has proven experience in multiple legal areas, including banking law, obligations and contracts, and corporate law, providing advice and legal representation to both individuals and companies, in both judicial and extrajudicial settings.

Francisco Hernández

Francisco Hernández has been a licensed attorney in Barcelona since 1991, with over 30 years of extensive professional experience. He specializes in Business Law, providing advisory services to companies across various sectors, with a particular focus on Information Technology. His career spans commercial law, advising on all types of collaboration, financial, and guarantee contracts, as well as the real estate sector and civil and commercial litigation, often involving international elements. Additionally, he has participated in numerous mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Ignacio Elorza

Ignacio Elorza is a licensed attorney since 1996, with over 22 years of experience providing legal advice to companies across various sectors. His career has focused on renewable energy, installations, construction and maintenance, as well as trademark licensing, wholesale and retail distribution, and consultancy.

He specializes in Commercial Law, with extensive experience in corporate law, intellectual property, and contracts—particularly in distribution and agency. Additionally, he possesses deep knowledge in the construction, development, operation, and maintenance of energy plants. His practice also covers Procedural and Insolvency Law related to commercial matters.

Pilar de Paz

Pilar de Paz is a partner at CASALS ABOGADOS, where she practices in the areas of Commercial, Corporate, and Labor Law. She has over 35 years of experience advising large and small companies, startups, and multinational corporations. Early in her career, she also provided services in civil and administrative law, which enables her to handle a wide range of matters and support companies not only in commercial and labor law but also in administrative law.

Complementing her education, she has specialized for several years in Compliance advisory, an essential area in the business world.

As an in-house lawyer and distinguished legal professional, Mr. Casals has led numerous transactions across various economic sectors, primarily in Spain and Europe.

He has over 40 years of experience advising large and medium-sized companies on local and multijurisdictional corporate matters. He is a member of several boards of directors of multinational and national companies.
