1. Purpose


By using this Website and/or communicating electronically with Casals Abogados, personal data of each User may be collected and processed, the processing of which is governed by this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”). All terms written in capital letters in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Use (which can be consulted at this link), unless expressly defined in this Privacy Policy.

3. Data Collected


The types of personal data that we collect and process from Users on the Website are as follows:
a. IP Address, Cookies, and similar technologies. The IP address is a code that identifies the User’s internet connection at a specific time, and Cookies are files that are downloaded to the User’s browser and can later be read by the website.

b. However, it is not possible to determine the User’s identity with this data, unless the User provides additional information through other means. You can find more information in our Cookie Policy.
c. Subscription to our newsletters and/or publications. The data collected will be the identifying data necessary to send you the content to which you have subscribed.

d. Subscription to events and similar activities. The data collected will be the identifying data necessary to manage your participation, such as your name, surname, email address, company, position, and professional contact details. These events may also be streamed live, photographed, and/or recorded, and therefore, in such cases, your image may be published on Casals Abogados’ internal and external communication channels, as well as in online environments (website, social media, digital platforms, etc.), solely for the purpose of informing about the activity carried out by the Firm. By registering for the event, you acknowledge and accept the above.

4. Purpose of Processing


The personal data of Users will be collected and processed for the purpose of managing the relationship with Casals Abogados, their registration for events and/or receipt of newsletters, as a contact point for the aforementioned company, to manage website use, and, where permitted by applicable law, to send regular legal information or notices about educational or outreach events in connection with Casals Abogados’ professional activities. Likewise, your personal data will be collected and processed in order to respond to any inquiries or questions you may submit through the Website.

5. Lawful Basis and Retention


The lawful basis for processing the IP address is the necessity to enable connection to the website via the Internet, and Casals Abogados’ legitimate interest in maintaining its relationship with the User, as well as sending legal information and updates on the Firm’s activities.
In the case of subscription to our publications and/or events, as well as when Users request information or specific services, the lawful basis will be the User’s consent.
Therefore, Casals Abogados will collect and process your data while the relationship remains in effect and, where applicable, until the User revokes the consent granted for data processing. In any case, when the personal data are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, and while legal or contractual obligations require their retention, the data will be securely blocked until they are definitively deleted.
If data are processed for the purpose of sending communications, they may be kept as long as the User does not object to receiving such communications by any of the means made available to them.

6. Disclosure


Casals Abogados will not disclose such data to third parties, except when strictly necessary to manage and maintain the relationship with Casals Abogados or with the User’s prior authorization. In particular, only those third parties with whom Casals Abogados has a contractual or legal obligation to share data will have access to personal data.

In the event of registration for Casals Abogados’ events organized jointly with third parties, your data may be shared with such parties for the organization and management of the events.

7. Rights


Users are informed that they may exercise, at any time and under the terms established by applicable law, their rights of access, rectification, or erasure of data, request restriction of processing, object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent, by writing to Av. Diagonal 449, 6º, 08036, Barcelona (Spain), or by email at info@casalsadvocats.com, clearly indicating the right they wish to exercise and enclosing their National Identity Document or similar identification document proving their identity. They may also file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency or any other competent data protection authority.
If Users provide us with personal data of third parties, the User guarantees that they have previously informed such third parties of the matters contained in this Privacy Policy and will be personally liable to Casals Abogados for any damages that may arise in case of non-compliance.
The User undertakes to notify any change or modification to the personal data they have provided. Any loss or damage caused to the Website, Casals Abogados, or any third party due to the communication of erroneous, inaccurate, or incomplete information shall be the sole and exclusive responsibility of the User.
